Time to catch up on trades.
Chris over at fanofreds.blogspot.com sent over some 2016 inserts, 2015 Archives, 2011 Lineage, and some custom minis including the two shown! Is a custom autographed card of a blogger a Bloggergraph?
Julie over at acrackedbat.blogspot.com sent over some 2016 Inserts, 2015 Gypsy Queen, 2015 Archives, and several Kershaw and Jackson cards including the two shown. Clayton Kershaw and Bo Jackson are definitely my top two player collections and I don’t mind getting doubles. Whenever you need to pad out a package to me you can slip in some Kershaws or Bos!
Jared over at cmmdto.blogspot.com sent over some 2015 Gypsy Queen and some Kershaws including this 5 x 7 monster from 2015 Archives.
I’ve also completed a trade with Canadian blogger, Mike, from Not Another Baseball Card Blog.
As well as some trades with nolansdugout.blogspot.com and lifetimetopps.wordpress.com.
It’s been a busy year so far with trades! Thank you so much to everyone for your generosity and willingness!
I have a second call out for FANTASY BASEBALL enthusiasts! The league I’ve been in for the past 6+ years has an opening for one manager. Let me know ASAP if you are willing to join. The generic league info can be found at my previous blog post.
Thanks for reading and let me know if you’d like to trade!
I’ve been very lucky so far this year acquiring some great new trading partners.
First, Marc from REMEMBER THE ASTRODOME knocked off more than 100 from my 1984 wantlist. He’s an Astos fan and will take what you have of them!
Then, Greg from loqtus.webs.com helped complete my 2014 Topps Heritage base set and sent about 67 cards for my 2011 Topps Update needs as well as a few inserts. His wantlists are posted as well!
And we have Jace from CARDS MY MOTHER DIDN’T THROW OUT. He just joined the blogosphere in the past several weeks and seems to be extremely active with the trading community. I sent him a few Diamondbacks including a 2015 Archie Bradley Auto and a Goldschmidt Relic. He sent over a stack of 1984 and 2003 Topps and also this beauty –
The kids and I were just driving home from Sunday School today when I checked the mailbox and found Jace’s package with this card inside. I was floored! This is now one of the coolest cards in my collection.
I think Kershaw is my favorite active player not only because of his dominance on the mound but also due to his ability to be in the spotlight and shine his Christian light. I pray everyday that the kids, my wife and I can carry ourselves as we ought to in God’s eyes. I think Mr. Kershaw most likely does, as well.
Thank you so much for everyone’s willingness to trade and their generosity. Yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of my heart surgery. I’ve noticed in the past year that I’m doing much better mentally. A lot of days are a struggle with my PTSD popping up and keeping me awake but the Hobby is very calming and methodical and it’s great to be a part of a community that’s helpful and generous.
Thanks for reading!
There is so much generosity in the baseball card collecting community it warms the heart.
In MN right now it’s raining and there is no accumulated snow on the ground. So as I’m dreaming of a White Christmas I’ve completed a number of trades.
The most recent comes from 2 x 3 Heroes. I was able to knock off a good portion of his 2015 Update, 2015-16 Upper Deck Hockey series 1, and some various other cards a few weeks back. Luckily I keep a spreadsheet of my trades now because I had almost completely forgotten about it when a package arrived from him. WOW! He shredded my 2015 Topps inserts wantlists with his generosity. He also sent these –
Those are original 1973 Topps. I love the look and feel of older cards and the only ones I had were buybacks. Now, I can start a new page of originals thanks to 2 x 3 Heroes!
He sent 6 total including the Bambino!
He’s also the first person to send me 2015-16 Young Guns SP! Thank you!
I also had the pleasure of completing trades with Mr. Jones of Golden Rainbow Cards. He’s a Braves collector if you’d like to get in touch with him.
Kyle of Nolan’s Dugout has a vast wantlist and has been one of my best repeat offenders in extreme generosity.
Mr. Horton aka vrooomed at the Trading Card Database is still searching for 2015 Golds and is a Phillies collector.
And the man who influenced me into blogging Mr. Mowry of the LIFETIME TOPPS PROJECT.
I never seem to have enough desire to scan all of the cards I receive so I just wanted to say thank you again to my wonderful trading partners!
I’m accumulating more sets in my collection so please take a look at my wantlists and send me a message if you’d like to trade!
Happy Christmas to all and God bless!
I’ve had really good experiences trading with members of the facebook group TOPPS BASEBALL CARD COLLECTORS.
Stephen Jones helped me nearly complete the 2015 Heritage insert set Baseball Flashbacks.
He collects Astros if you have any cool ones that need a new home.
Mr. Bob Andrews sent me some 2013 Heritage cards I forgot to scan. I sent him what I could for 2011 Heritage. He needs some more SPs from 2011 and 2012 Heritage if you have any of those.
I’d highly recommend joining the facebook group and getting involved with the community. Both of those gentlemen were a pleasure dealing with.
Reader Bryan sent me a message that he had a few more cards for me after we had already completed a trade. Previously, I sent him some Braves and he sent me some cards I needed, although at this moment I’ve lost track of what, exactly. Darn you post-heart surgery brain!!!!
In the mail today I received these four cards, though!
All of them are great pics and the three base cards complete my 2015 series 1 and 2 sets!
Thank you so much to Bryan and to everyone else who helped me complete the sets!
Now the wait for 2015 Update begins!
I few weeks back I tried for several days to complete a new blog post. The posts kept coming up as pages though.
I finally contacted the Support line and Simon hopefully fixed everything.
I’m going to keep this short to test things out.
Here are some completed player collection pages I’ve filled through trades recently.
Thank you so much to everyone who has completed trades with me! I truly appreciate all the help and it’s nice to find a new home for the cards I don’t collect.
It’s been awhile.
My wife and I bought a house. No more cramming 4 people into a 700 sq ft 2 bedroom condo. Now we have room to stretch out and let the kids graze in the spacious yard.
Also, I have room to work on organizing my card collection!
On The Trading Card Database this listing caught my eye –
2015 Topps Baseball – Gold Parallel cards wanted
I knew I had a few cards from my box so I sent them over.
In return he helped me compete some holes in my Fernando collection! I was able to complete the first page of both Topps and Donruss.
Fernando Topps page 1
With my player collection, I like to have the base cards in chronological order and separate them by different sets. It’s neat to see the progression of aging as well as design.
Fernando Donruss page 1
I know I completed a few trades with others as well but it’s been a few months and I can’t remember exactly who gave me what (darn you post heart surgery brain!). To those I missed, thank you for the cards!
Next week Topps Series 2 comes out! Check back for my box break and let me know if you’d like any of the cards! Thanks for reading!
When I first started to put some Topps sets together last year I stumbled across the Lifetime Topps Project during my search for info on the various subsets for each year. That blog was invaluable to me and I think it’s wonderful that I was able to complete my first trade online with the writer. I was able to fill in some of his wantlist and this is what he sent me back.
I was able to get partial sets of 1987 and 1988 Topps from my sister and brother-in-law but there are still a few holes. Compared to the 2015 set, these cards look and feel archaic.
I think this year’s set has received somewhat universal acclaim for its design. Seeing three different colored borders in this pic is truly appealing.
Fernando going strong in Dodger Blue next to him trying to fight back to the bigs in the complementary orange. I fell in love with Fernando after seeing the 30 for 30 film on him.
My great respect for Bo Jackson also came about after seeing his 30 for 30.
Lifetime Topps threw in several Bo cards I didn’t have.
I just realized Bo and Fernando are two guys who attempted to fight back after declining from their peak. That’s something everyone who goes through heart surgery attempts to do as well!
I hate seeing him in a White Sox uniform but this is such a great pose and pic. Adding the Gold to the card really makes it classy, too!
We’ll end the post with a smile! One of the main reasons I wanted to start a card blog was to complete some sets through trading. Feel free to comment and let me know if you are willing to trade! I will keep on updating my wantlists and what I have for trade in return.
