HOBBY BOX BREAK #6 – 2011 Topps Lineage

Well, it’s a RETAIL box, technically, but I didn’t want to start another category.

A Twin on the box alongside Mickey Mantle!?! We had a good run while Mauer, Morneau, and Cuddyer were batting in the heart of the order and Johan Santana was on the mound. Mauer is the only piece left but now he’s the veteran to guide Sano, Buxton, and Vargas as the Twins hopefully start another string of division championships.

2011 Lineage01

Retail boxes had a hit. This is mine. I have a stack of Jersey relics that need a new home along with this one. Let me know if you are interested. This card is actually a 1975 mini. It’s hard to tell in the scan but it’s a tiny card.

2011 Lineage V and cloth

These are the cloth inserts. The base set consists of 200 cards with the same design but not cloth. The base is shiny white much like every other Topps set for 4-5 years.

2011 Lineage

These are my keepers. I collect them both.

2011 Lineage Platinums

Here are my platinum variations available for trade.

2011 Lineage Diamonds

Diamond inserts for Topps’ 50 anniversary. Also available for trade.

2011 Lineage V and cloth01

Venezuelan variations. Who wants them?

2011 Lineage minis

More 1975 Mini’s but without a jersey swatch. I love that Cy Young played for the Spiders. I might hang on to him but the others can be in your mailbox in less than a week.

2011 Lineage 3d and more02

3D cards. Not a bad scan!

2011 Lineage 3d and more01

I pulled a few of the 2011 Rookies inserts but have already found a home for the others. This one is still available, though.

2011 Lineage 3d and more

And a Stand-up. If you want this you have to send me a picture back of this card punched out and standing somewhere!

Final Tally-

159 – base (200)

32 – inserts

1- game-used jersey

191 total cards

Most cards pictured are available for trade.

Here’s my wantlist if you can help me out! 2011 Topps Lineage

2015 Topps Archives Baseball – A Quasi-Review

The formula for Topps Archives seems to be taking stars from past and present and whipping up some cards with designs from the vault. I am all for it.

2015 Archives

There are three designs used. 1957 (Bo Jackson), 1976 (Big Mac), and 1983 (Gwynn). Each design gets 100 base cards for a total of 300 in the base set.

There are 10 Short Prints for each design as well but the cards seem to be extremely rare.

I bought three blaster boxes and half a dozen hobby packs and I’ve yet to see a SP in person.

2015 archives 3

I did get a few Gold Parallels. Each is #/50.

2015 archives 301

Silver Parallels #/199.

2015 archives JFK

Presidential inserts.

2015 archives 1

Will Ferrell cards. I have two of these for trade as well as his SF Giants cards.

There are also a few other insert sets but I’m too lazy to do anymore scans. Here’s a link to the full review from Cardboard Connection.

The card stock does seem pretty flimsy for all of the cards and the hobby price point seems pretty steep at $90-100/box but the blaster boxes are plentiful for set collectors like myself.

Here’s my wantlist – 2015 Topps Archives.

I have LOTS AND LOTS of base doubles. I think my last Blaster box only netted me about 5 cards I needed for the set so I’m not going to throw anymore money at it.

Hobby Box Break #5 – 2013 Topps Heritage

As mentioned before I picked up an amazing craigslist lot of Topps Heritage that contained over 12 opened boxes of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

My first thought was that it was going to be a bunch of base and not much else. I was okay with this since I’m basically a set builder and needed all of those years.

Once I got home and actually started going through the boxes I discovered, to my huge surprise, all of the inserts and Short Prints were still there! This truly was an incredible find!

I traded a good stack of the SPs to Nolan’s Dugout┬ásince we seem to be in a battle of who can give who more cards. He sent back some great Bo Jacksons and 2011 Topps Update. I’d highly recommend becoming a trading partner with him if you haven’t done so yet.

The other SPs were thrown on ebay in order to build up my depleted┬áPaypal fund. I used some of the money to buy a box of 2013 Heritage since I’ve been itching to open another hobby box. Here’s my break –

2013 Topps Heritage Hobby Box

The box topper was a buyback.

Here’s who came out.

My craigslist lot contained a few buybacks as well. I don’t really collect anything prior to 1979 but it is neat to have a few vintage cards to look at.

2013 heritage

Any Giants fans out there? Marco is 016/564 and looking for a new home.

2013 H relic

Miley is giddy with excitement because of the Alex Gordon Jersey Relic. I, on the other hand, truly prefer auto’s and have no real desire to hang on to very many Jerseys. Miley is 656/999. Both he and Gordon are looking for a nice new sleeve or 9 pocket outside of MN.

2013 h sp

SHORT PRINTS! I actually have doubles of the Holliday, Price, and Peavy from a blaster box I picked up. Speak now if you’d like any. Otherwise, you’ll find the whole lot on ebay next week.

2013 heritage01

Posey Photo Variation SP. Oddly, there is not a single one of these up on ebay. I might have to remedy that unless we can make a deal.

2013 h nap

There aren’t too many current Stars I collect. This is one of the few insert sets from Heritage I don’t hang on to. Let me know if you need them! I also have MM – Manny Machado but I didn’t get a pic for some reason.

2013 h nf bf

I do like the FLASHBACKS, though. I’ve updated my wantlists with all of the ones I need for the different years.

2013 h mm & tnn

I collect these as well. I have a double of the Jeter and a double of the Killebrew / Cabrera.

I’m not quite sure how many cards of the base set I opened since I had picked up some through a trade and some through a blaster box. My wantlists are up to date, though, and I do have some base doubles if you are interested.

Thanks for reading and hopefully be trading with you soon!
